I am writing this post because I have been asked many times by different people if the UltraGuard system is a swimming pool paint. My answer is a resounding NO! UltraGuard is not a swimming pool paint. It isn’t even close to a pool paint. Unlike most pool paints, UltraGuard contains 100% solids. Pool paints are filled with silicates and other fillers in an attempt to thicken them up. UltraGuard is a two part epoxy that actually creates a chemical bond when the two substances come together. Many of our customers get a kick out of looking at the buckets of UltraGuard just hours after an application. The left over material is actually bonded together inside the can. When paint dries all you are left with is brittle paint chips. Remember, there is no such thing as swimming pool paint, only paint you can put on your pool.
